Avulsed Tooth

These Dos and Don’t are from 

American Association of Endodontics.

Do

Reposition the tooth in the socket immediately.  Hold the tooth by a crown and put it back in the socket root first. Bite on cotton swab or a towel for 15/20 minutes. If it can’t be replaced, put it in milk, in your mouth next to your cheek.

 Time is of the essence 

See a dentist ASAP 

Don’t

Don’t touch the root

Don’t clean the tooth with any chemicals or soap.

Don’t wrap the tooth in tissue or cloth

If  your tooth breaks but is not knocked out.  Keep the area clean by finding with warm water. If there are any sharp edges dental wax is available in most drugstores to cover the area. See a dentist right away.
